On December 14, 2012 BIASA ArtSpace held a Preview of their current exhibition simply titled “it’s just an exhibition”. During the preview prospective buyers, art connoisseurs came together to view the works of various International and Indonesian contemporary artists that have worked with the gallery since conception in 2005.

At the entrance guest are greeted by HeriDono’s “Head of Gamelan” installation. This work involves a series of musical “heads” wired to make a cacophony of familiar neo-traditional sounds. The artwork sets the tone of the exhibition welcoming guests to discover a mélange of Indonesian and International contemporary art pieces displayed in a unique style, very familiar to BIASA ArtSpace.

“Sweet Hot Hirst” by YuliPrayitno, a 2004 clear fiberglass piece, hangs centralized at the staircase of the gallery surrounded creating a focal point from which to discover a collection of beautifully curated pieces by Arya Pandjalu, Ay Tjoe Christine, AngkiPurbandono, FarhanSiki, FilippoSciascia, Indieguerillas, JumaldiAlfi, KokokSancoko, NurdianIchsan, SeptianHariyoga, Ugo Untoro, WiyogaMuhardanto, YogieGinanjar, ZulfaHendra, Zulkarnaini. The exhibition extends to the second floor with works from Australian born Kirsty Ludbrook. Projected from the Little Library at BIASA ArtSpace, a high definition video from Abdul Wahid titled “portrait” plays in front of an empty chair strategically placed for patrons to use as seating when viewing this progressive work of art.
